Most cordless electronics contain rechargeable batteries which should never be placed in the trash or recycling bin because they can start fires. Rechargeable batteries are now the number one cause of fires at recycling facilities. Electronics also contain lots of valuable resources which can be recovered through recycling.
What to do instead? Drop off your old cordless electronics and computer equipment for recycling at Best Buy, Staples, or a municipal recycling center.
