Correct, it's true.
Shredded paper is no longer accepted for recycling in the blue bin, even if it's bagged.
Why not? If a bag rips open, the paper shreds fly around the recycling facility and cling to other recyclables, making a mess.
Additionally, shredded paper is more difficult to recycle into new products because the fibers have been cut short.
